He works outdoors during most of our treacherous winter months and was used to wearing the waffle weave type thermals so I was apprehensive in purchasing this type. Duofold's mid-weight navy thermals are very comfortable and make your legs feel warm when it is cold, yet not too warm when you think you should not have worn them. I have worn department store tall thermals for years that have been 100% cotton that would get loose (non-tight) before the day was over and wear out in two years. I ordered regular duofolds because they didn't appear to have talls; and I think I like them better shorter than my previous talls. Sometimes I wonder why I feel so good, and my mind reminds me--"Oh, its the duofold thermals!" I will buy at least three more pair for fear they quit making these.

These kept me warm so the purpose was served (layered under Marmot expedition weight pants). Maybe I bought the wrong product but the old Duofold was form fitting and drew away moisture. These did not do a great job of that. They also had an irritating pinstripe throughout the fabric. It was terribly itchy and uncomfortable. I am not sure why they are constructed that way. I do not suggest this product to anyone who is actually going to be sweating or wanting to move around.
